Travellers need a valid passport to enter Maldives. The passport must be valid for six months beyond your intended stay. This entitles you to stay 30-90 days.
Our all-inclusive holiday packages include international return flights from Australia. Flights run throughout the day from all our major airports to Valena International Airport in Male. You can jump on the 12pm from Sydney, 1pm from Perth, or the 11pm from Brisbane – These are just a few examples of the flight schedules. Wherever you are travelling from, My Maldives will get you there on a full-service airline, inclusive in the package*
The official currency in Maldives is Maldivian Rufiyaa. Approximately AUD$1 equals 10 rufiyaa, although this changes due to exchange rates. Major credit cards are widely accepted. There are several ATMs and other money exchange services around Maldives, particularly in Malé and Velana International Airport.
We have you covered, with return connections included in your My Maldives package! We will organise a breathtaking seaplane, domestic flight or speedboat connection to and from your resort on arrival and departure. Other great ways to travel between the atolls and on land are ferries, buses, taxis and hire cars. Taxis are metred but you can ask for a price before setting out.
Visa application is not required for stays less than 30 days as you are granted them for free on arrival. The traveller must:
- Hold a passport valid at least six months beyond the period of intended stay with one blank visa page
- Hold proof of sufficient funds
- Hold proof of confirmed onward/return airline tickets
- Hold documents showing proof of purpose of trip
- Hold all documents required for the next destination
- Hold a visa for the next country, where applicable
- Confirm with their airline that boarding will be permitted without a visa as these conditions are subject to change
