Itinerary
Day 1: Arrive in Colombo, travel to Negombo
Welcome to Sri Lanka! Upon arrival at Colombo International Airport, connect with your dedicated My Holiday guide and drive just 45 minutes to your hotel in Negombo. Once a small fishing town, Negombo is now a modern tourist hotspot, located on the west coast of Sri Lanka. Head to Sea Street, where you’ll find many seafood restaurants, serving delicious local dishes.
Day 2: Negombo to Yapahuwa to Wilpattu (B, L, D)
Begin your day by driving north to Yapahuwa, the former capital for a short period of 11 years. Similar to the famous Sigiriya Lion Rock, Yapahuwa is also home to an ancient rock fortress, secured with inner and outer city sections that still showcase visible traces of battle. After exploring Yapahuwa Rock Fortress, continue to Wilpattu and check into your luxurious safari tent. Then, enjoy a 4x4 jeep safari at Wilpattu National Park, the largest wildlife reserve in Sri Lanka. Covering an area of over 130,000 hectares, Wilpattu National Park is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including leopards, elephants, sloth bears and spotted deer.
Day 3: Wilpattu to Dambulla to Kandy (B, L, D)
Today, say your goodbyes to Wilpattu and venture on to Dambulla. Upon arrival, head to the famed Dambulla Cave Temple, the largest and best-preserved cave temple complex in the country. This UNESCO World Heritage Site boasts 157 Buddha statues, along with intricate mural paintings. Afterwards, continue to Kandy, stopping at a spice garden along the way for a cooking demonstration and lunch. Then, check into your hotel and enjoy an afternoon at your leisure.
Day 4: Kandy to Nuwara Eliya to Ella to Haputale (B, D)
Prepare for a jam-packed day spent exploring some of Sri Lanka’s most sought-after destinations. First, visit the Temple of the Sacred Tooth Relic. Dating back to the 16th century, this UNESCO World Heritage Site consists of numerous buildings, each decorated with paintings and carvings depicting Buddha. Then, journey onwards to Nuwara Eliya where you’ll embark on Sri Lanka’s most scenic train journey to Ella. On arrival in Ella, visit the famous Nine Arch Bridge and stop at Ravana Pool Club. Finally, drive a further 60 minutes to the beautiful landscapes of Haputale, where you’ll spend the night.
Day 5: Haputale (B, D)
Get a taste of the Sri Lankan countryside with a full day to explore the beauty of Haputale at your leisure. Trust that your tour guide will have plenty of recommendations for places to visit.
Day 6: Haputale to Weligama (B, D)
Say hello to the beautiful beaches of Sri Lanka’s South. Drive approximately four hours to the resort town of Weligama, stopping en route to visit the famous stilt fishermen. This age-old fishing practice is fascinating to watch, as the fishermen balance themselves on stilts with one hand and hold their fishing rods with the other. Later, check into your hotel in Weligama and spend the rest of the day at your leisure.
Day 7: Weligama to Galle to Colombo (B)
Today, head back towards Colombo, stopping in the coastal city of Galle along the way. Famous for its Dutch colonial architecture, visit cultural attractions like the Galle Fort, Dutch Reformed Church and the Maritime Museum. Your next stop is Balapitiya, where you’ll embark on a Madu River boat safari, offering a unique opportunity to explore lush mangrove forests and observe diverse wildlife, including crocodiles, monkeys and exotic birds. You can also visit the small islands scattered throughout the river, home to temples, cinnamon plantations and handicraft workshops. On arrival in Colombo, enjoy a sightseeing tour of Sri Lanka’s largest city.
Day 8: Depart Colombo (B)
Enjoy a final Sri Lankan breakfast before heading to Colombo International Airport to catch your flight to the Maldives.

Cancellation Charges
